Molly's Bridal Shower Invitation

I am in a wedding in May for our great friends, Molly & Marshal. All the bridesmaids are hosting a shower for her in March and I was able to design the invite for this one as well! We chose the color theme to be a classy black, white and pink, which I think looks very nice!

Here is the invitation: (took out some important details/names)

Sara's Baby Shower!

As I have already posted here, I designed Sara's baby shower invitation. I also designed coordinating thank you notes for her, with the addresses already printed on the envelopes to help save her some time!
I also made favor bags for each guest, with cute little name tags on them!
Here is a close up:
Fun fun!

Logo Design

This past week, a coworker hired me to design a logo for her friends new consulting company. They had a basic idea of what they wanted, I just refined it and made it look "more official".

Tara's Wising Up Cover!

My amazing sister wrote her own biblestudy! She had the dvd from Beth Moore but obviously couldn't take the image from the cd. SO That's where I came in :)

Tiffin's Save the Date!

My good friend from Charlotte, Tiffin, is getting married! I got the chance to design her save the dates for her, which was real fun!

Lara's Baby Shower Invitation.

My sister & her friend, Jenn, are hosting another shower for one of their friends. They found an invitation they liked- but just in the wrong colors, so I just recreated it in the colors of the nursery! (once again whiting out stuff that doesn't have to be shared with blog land)

Sara's Baby Shower Invitation

I just finished designing an invitation for a baby shower that I'm co-hosting for my best friend Sara! I'm super excited about it, as this idea came pretty fast and I had a blast drawing all the graphics too! (covered up parts that blog world doesn't have to see!)

Christmas Gifts 2008

I have started giving our family friends a homemade dessert every year for Christmas. Of course I am different from most people, where I could care less about the dessert and instead just focus on how it's presented :)

I decorated some mason jars by layering Christmas scrapbooking paper and printing out a Merry Christmas greeting! I wrapped ribbon around the mason jars as well for decoration!Next was time to make all the tags. I could have done more on these but I was tired!
Next it was time to make the cookies! MAN were these a pain, Pinwheel Peppermint Cookies! Basically sugar cookies from scratch, half the batch and dye it red. Then layer the red batch over the other half and roll it up like jelly rolls. Freeze then slice them up and bake. They will look like this when you are done:
You then make the peppermint frosting. Then stick two cookies together with the peppermint frosting in the middle (just like an oreo). I chose to individually wrap each one and curl ribbon on the edges to look like this:
I bought some really cute fabric on sale at JoAnn's and cut into circles to cover the lids. Tie it up with some twine and you are done :)

Wedding Album Book Design

This Christmas was a real treat in getting to surprise our families with a couple LONG overdue wedding albums. My husband and I were married 2 years ago, and as our photographers "camera malfunctioned" a lot of our photos were ruined. After working almost 3 straight weeks on color correcting all the photos, laying out the pages and stressing over fonts... it was off to the printer! I had to turn it in by Dec 9th to get it back by Christmas! I incorporated some of our guests pictures, our invitation, and our program into the book to really capture everything from that day.
The cover:
One of the beginning pages with our invitation:
Wedding party:

My favorite part of the book are all the chapter headings. I had the chapter titles on the right page, leaving the left page of the spread black and empty... SO I decided to incoporate some of the music/bible verses that we had played during our ceremony and reception. I looked up all the lyrics/verses and pasted them in a 20% overlay over the black and it turned out perfect!!
"Shine on Us" (was played when we were lighting the unity candle):
"True Companion" (our first dance song at the reception)"Mexico" by James Taylor
(our last dance at the reception telling everyone where we were going!)

It was neat looking back at all of our pictures, and deciding which I would choose for the 8x10, 120 page book! Definitely a fun and memorable project!
(If you click on any of the images you can see them in full scale. For all those who might be curious I used the program Blurb to make the book and upgraded to their premium paper. Great deals and great quality!)

Bridal Shower Invitation

This past week I was able to create an invitation for a shower my friend Kathleen is hosting. She found one she loved off of a wedding website but they quoted her $85! Luckily after creating it myself and ordering it on vistaprint.com (best site ever with the best deals) the total was $16! I can't wait to have my own printer where I can do everything in house and cut out the middle man! I blurred out some of the important info just b/c I probably shouldn't share all that on the internet!
